To fulfill this requirement, we needed to install a lengthy underground sub-main running from the existing main switchboard to the new workshop. This task demanded precise coordination with our trusted earthworks contractor to guarantee that the trenching, conduit installation, and backfill processes were carried out safely and adhered to all relevant industry specifications.

As we strategized for the installation of the sub-main, we realized that the existing main switchboard was in dire need of replacement. It was outdated, exhibiting signs of rust, and did not meet current safety standards, thus proving unsuitable for a new installation. To rectify this issue, we enlisted the expertise of our reliable Level 2 ASP partners to undertake the necessary mains-level work. This included the installation of new metering, consumer mains, and a fully compliant replacement switchboard that adhered to the latest regulations.

During the decommissioning process of the old switchboard, we were unexpectedly greeted by the discovery of four frogs residing within the enclosure. This unusual finding serves as a reminder of the various challenges that rural electrical equipment faces, including threats from geckos, rodents, moisture, insects, and other intruders. It underscores the critical importance of ensuring that all enclosures on rural properties are adequately sealed, as aging or poorly maintained equipment can lead to faults and operational failures.
